Devices not being detected when performing a CPET

Modified on Thu, 3 Aug, 2023 at 10:08 AM

Firstly if no devices are being detected in Amedtec and they have a red cross next to the name Make sure the devices are plugged into the cart or the computer correctly by checking if any connections have become lose or unplugged as this is one of the reasons why the devices may not be detected by the software. Also you need to check if the devices are actually switched on before you try and perform a CPET.

Another reason can be that If all external have red crossed through them when the Amedtec goes to connect to them during the start of the CPET. Its likely re-pairing , as the COM ports may have been reallocated incorrectly:

  • To check the COM port (USB) locations of the different device:
  • Search “device manager” in the bottom left search bar near the windows icon.
  • Open your COM port using the > icon you should be able to see. This will display the image below. The adjacent texts shows the COM ports and what they represent.

(Example picture some will look different)

  • COM1 - Not in use

  • If the comports show Bluetooth link - it will be your Bluetooth connections such as ECG/Nonin.

  • If the Shows 'USB Serial Port' this will be for the Tango Blood Pressure if you have one

  • If the Com Port Shows 'CH340' it is usually the - Bike/Treadmill
    • (these are  connected through one switch box)

  • Verify these are correct in the Amedtec (ECG software) by going to:
    • File > Settings and searching for the devices in the top right (Red Box) i.e Tango, Ram (Treadmill), Ergoselect (Bike) and Cardiopart 12 blue (ECG box)
    • You should be able to match the COM ports to the drop down tests (Blue box)
    • Make sure the devices are on a “test” to check the new connection.

Tango blood pressure (If you have one)

 Ergoselect for the Ergoselect bike

RAM for Treadmill

Blue - for Cardiopart ECG

  • If Cardiopart 12 blue (ECG) has been overwritten and still doesn't connect after correction to the COM port
  • Remove the device from the Bluetooth Devices in Windows by typing “Bluetooth & other devices” in the bottom right search bar of window (Blue box).
  • re-add to Bluetooth (Red box above and below)

  • When re connecting the device the following PIN will be required (08280)
  • You can then remove (red box) and re-add (Blue box) the device in the Settings in Amedtec.
  • Once finished relocating and connecting all the devices make sure to click the save button at the bottom right of the screen.
