How to Anonymise Patients

Modified on Thu, 31 Oct, 2019 at 3:52 PM

In Blue Cherry open the “Setup” and click “Advanced” then browse to “Patient data  -> Anonymisation”

There will be two settings;

  1. Mode: Choose when Blue Cherry anonymises Patients
  2.  Anonymisation: Shows the patient data that will be anonymised

In the “Mode” Section there is a selection of 3 options from the dropdown list;

  1. Always anonymise – This will anonymise every patient that is exported
  2. Ask For anonymisation – When a patient is exported Blue Cherry will ask if you want to anonymise the patient
  3. Never Anonymise – No anonymisation will be done

Select a mode

In the Anonymisation section there are 3 different options;

  1. Add – This will add an element to anonymise and how you want to anonymise the element
  2. Remove – This will remove the element
  3. Setup – This will edit the element

Add an Element

All of the elements should be listed in the anonymisation section of the tab

Once you have filled out all the elements that you want to anonymise, export the patient (depending on which mode you have selected you may be asked if you want to anonymise data)

Import the patient and the patient element you selected will be anonymised. (You will have to give a new patient ID if you are importing the patient back into the same database, we recommend keeping the same ID but putting text after it so you know which patient it is
